Refund to a virtual card

A refund to a card can take up to 45 days. The exact time depends on several parties that Rumto doesn’t control directly.

Why a refund takes time

The merchant has to start the refund, and how fast they do it depends on their own policy. Then the payment system, Visa or Mastercard, processes it. Finally, the card issuer receives the refund details from the payment system and credits the money to the card. Each step needs time for processing and checks.

You can’t speed the process up directly, but you can ask the merchant to start the refund as soon as possible.

If more than 45 days have passed and the money hasn’t come back, contact support and we’ll check the status of the refund.

Moving money from the card back to the wallet

You can return money from a card to your wallet through support.

  1. Open Support: the button on the left on a computer, the icon in the right-hand menu on a phone, or Profile, then Support.
  2. Create a request with the card number and the amount.
  3. Send it and wait for the reply.
Parameter Value
Minimum amount 100 USD
Fee 1%

The card needs enough money to cover the amount and the fee.

FAQ

Can a virtual card receive refunds?

Yes. A refund from a merchant goes back to the card it was paid with.

The refund isn’t showing yet. What should I do?

It may still be processing. Check the card’s transaction history in the app or contact support; sometimes the money is already credited but shows up with a delay.
