Where Rumto cards work

Rumto cards work online and in shops in almost every country. Each card has its own list of countries where it can’t be used, and the app shows that list in the card description before you buy. The lists below are current at the time of writing. They may be updated as international rules change, so check the app before you buy a card and before a trip. If a payment is declined in a country that isn’t on the list, contact support in the app.

Visa E-commerce

You can’t use the card in: Afghanistan, Belarus, Central African Republic, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Myanmar, North Korea, Russia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, Yemen, Zimbabwe.

Your nationality doesn’t limit the card. If you signed up successfully, the card works in all other regions.

Mastercard Business

You can’t use the card in: Belarus, China, Lebanon, Myanmar, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine, Venezuela.

If a payment is declined in a country that isn’t on the list, contact support in the app.

Visa Universe

You can’t use the card in these countries and territories: Afghanistan, Akrotiri, Albania, Antarctica, Armenia, Ashmore and Cartier Islands, Bassas da India, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bouvet Island, Burundi, Central African Republic, Clipperton Island, Coral Sea Islands, Cuba, Cyprus, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dhekelia, Ethiopia, Europa Island, French Southern and Antarctic Lands, Glorioso Islands, Guatemala, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Heard Island and McDonald Islands, Iran, Iraq, Juan de Nova Island, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Moldova, Montenegro, Myanmar, Navassa Island, Netherlands Antilles, Nicaragua, Niger, North Korea, Paracel Islands, Pitcairn Islands, Russia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Serbia, Somalia, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, South Sudan, Spratly Islands, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tromelin Island, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Wake Island, Yemen, Zimbabwe.

If you’re planning a trip or a move to one of these places, arrange another way to pay before you go.

Why a payment can fail outside the lists

  • The merchant decides which cards and which countries it accepts.
  • The region of your account affects which payment methods you see.
  • Payment providers have their own geographic limits.
  • The security system stops a payment that looks unusual.

If a payment doesn’t go through

  1. Check that the card is active and has enough balance.
  2. Check the card number, expiry date and billing address you entered.
  3. Wait a few minutes and try again.
  4. Ask the merchant whether it accepts payments from your country.
  5. If that doesn’t help, contact support in the app.

Before a large purchase abroad, ask the merchant in advance whether it accepts payments from your region.
