Is a virtual card safe?

A virtual card is protected by its CVV code, 3-D Secure confirmation for online payments and a fraud protection system. Most of the risk comes from sharing details you should keep to yourself.

Never share these

  • The password to your account.
  • Confirmation codes from text messages or email.
  • The card’s CVV or CVC code.
  • Your full card details, unless you are paying.

Rumto support never asks for your password, confirmation codes or CVV. If someone asks for them, it’s a scam.

Check before every transfer

Before you confirm, check the wallet address and the blockchain network, the recipient’s UID or card number, and the amount. A few seconds of checking can save your funds.

Why a card can be blocked

The system blocks a card to protect you in a few situations.

When the card doesn’t have enough money for a payment, the system can block it to prevent repeated failed charges. Top up the card before you use it.

Several declined payments in a row look like suspicious activity, so the card can be blocked. Check the payment details and the balance before you try again.

Unusual activity, such as large amounts, new countries or many operations, can trigger an extra check. The card stays blocked until it’s done. Contact support to find out why.

How to avoid a block

  • Check the balance before each payment.
  • Check the payment details before you send.
  • Stay within your limits.
  • Don’t make many payments in different countries in a short time.

If your card is blocked, don’t keep trying to pay. Check the balance and history in the app, then contact support, describe your recent operations and ask to unblock the card.

FAQ

Will I lose my money if the card is blocked?

No. A block doesn’t touch the money on your account, and it’s available again once the card is unblocked. A declined payment isn’t charged.

Does Rumto support ever ask for my CVV?

No, never.
