VietQR is the QR standard of Vietnamese banks. Cafés, markets, small shops and taxi drivers often show a VietQR code instead of a card terminal, and locals pay by scanning it in their banking app. Without a Vietnamese bank account, a visitor usually has to pay cash. Rumto lets you pay by QR in Vietnam from your wallet balance.
What you need
- A Rumto account in the app.
- Money on your balance, topped up with crypto: USDT, USDC, Bitcoin and 100+ other coins.
- Camera access for the app.
Paying by QR in Vietnam
- Make sure your balance covers the purchase.
- Open QR payments: on the Home tab, in Cards or in the Hub.
- Tap scan and point the camera at the code.
- Check the amount and tap Confirm.
Limits and terms are shown before you confirm. A confirmed payment goes through at once and can’t be cancelled.
When you still need a card
QR covers purchases on the spot. For hotel bookings, flights, online services and Apple Pay or Google Pay, get a Rumto virtual card. The card and QR payments use the same balance.
Check before the trip
Countries with QR payments can be added or removed. Check the current list in the app before you travel.
